Tragic killings of innocent victims in bad neighborhoods continue to put Chicago’s violence on the national stage. As the World Humanitarian Day is approaching, local mobile tech startup Gesture has decided to team up with Habitat for Humanity to help build a home for a family in need on August 19, 2014.
“It’s easy to blame others for the violence, but we all know that doesn’t solve anything. Instead of just talking about the heartbreaking reports, our company has decided to build up Chicago by rolling up our sleeves and getting to work. It is important to invest in our community,” says Jim Alvarez founder of Gesture.
While Chicago has been receiving negative national news, Gesture encourages everyone to use this national holiday to participate in positive action. Come together and serve on August 19, 2014 to our beautiful city.
