Milwaukee Go Red For Women Luncheon

PrtScr capture_2Wear “red” and join us at Milwaukee’s Go Red For Women® Luncheon on Friday, May 2nd at The Pfister Hotel.

Go Red For Women® is the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease in women. We are committed to the fight, for as long as it takes.

Save the date and plan to join our 2014 Event Chair Susan Edwards, ProHealth Care.

Only one in five American women believe that heart disease is her greatest health threat. This unfortunate reality has a lot to do with why the statistics on women and heart disease are so unsettling:

  • One out of three women dies from heart disease
  • Nearly 460,000 women every year die from heart disease, this is about one woman per minute
  • Every year since 1984 more women than men have died of cardiovascular diseases.
  • 43 million American women are currently living with Cardiovascular disease
  • Cardiovascular disease kills more women than the next leading causes of death including all cancers
  • We greatly appreciate the generous support of all our sponsors, volunteers, auction item donors and attendees

The Pfister Hotel
424 East Wisconsin AVenue
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53202

Gesture – Giving Back

charity Middle school is rough for most kids. You’re not yet an adult but you want to be treated like one. Middle school is even harder for children living in severe poverty, like the children of the Anna Julia Cooper School where approximately 10,000 families live in housing units with annual incomes of less than $10,000. As a kid I didn’t grow up in a metro housing project, but life in rural Iowa had its own struggles. After a debilitating college football injury took full use of my right arm I began to take note of the people along the way who cared about me and showed a genuine concern for wanting more out of my life. The motto at AJCS is exactly that. This tuition free school provides children of limited means with a stable and caring environment to obtain a private education. It hopes to change the trajectory of their life. I’m blessed to have been able to show these kids that they matter by sponsoring their spring carnival. This event, free to the community, will provide a day of fun for children who desperately seek it. I could have gone a different path, but because people cared for me and genuinely cared about me…I learned to care about myself and my own life trajectory changed. I’m simply returning the favor.

About Clint’s Featured Charity:
charity We’re going to throw a spring carnival for an entire community in need on May 3rd from 11:00am-3:00pm. Thanks to your generosity we’ll be able to keep this FREE for the children and families of North Church Hill. Your gift will help us host 300-400 children for a day of food, fun and laughter. (Now that’s getting a real “bang for your buck”). Please consider making a donation to sponsor admission for a child in need of good ole’ fashioned fun. Your gift will make the difference in the life of a child from my neighborhood. – Thank you!
